MPP Steve Pinsonneault announces funding for Seniors Active Living Centre programs in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex

LAMBTON-KENT-MIDDLESEX — Today, MPP Steve Pinsonneault announced Ontario government the third quarterly installment payment for the Seniors Active Living Centre(s) in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

“Our government, led by Premier Ford, continues to prioritize support for seniors,” said Steve Pisnonneault, MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. “Seniors Active Living Centres offer a welcoming environment where seniors can reconnect with old friends, forge new relationships, and remain actively involved in the life of their community. These centres play an essential role in fostering social connections and enhancing the quality of life for our seniors.”

The funding comes from an annual investment of more than $15 million, an increase of approximately one million dollars from last year.

“Seniors Active Living Centres are the best way for our seniors to stay fit, active, healthy, socially connected, close to their homes and in our communities”, said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Our government is proud to invest in Seniors Active Living Centre programs that are improving the health and independence for our seniors.”

SALCs offer learning opportunities and a variety of recreational and social of activities including fitness, healthy lifestyle and wellness classes that are important supports in communities.
