Ontario invests in services and activities helping seniors stay active and socially connected.

LAMBTON-KENT-MIDDLESEX — Today, MPP Steve Pinsonneault announced thatfive Seniors’ Organizations have received a Seniors Community Grant bringing seniors together in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Grant recipients include:
- Wallaceburg Senior Citizens’ Club Inc. receiving $24,772 for their project: Navigating Life’s Last Journey: Community Conversations on Planning, Loss, and Grief
- Sydenham Community Curling Club Inc. receiving $24,996 for their Active Minds & Healthy Bodies: Senior Wellness Engagement Project at the Sydenham Community Curling Club.
- North Lambton Community Health Centre receiving $13,171 for their Aging Well Together project.
- Strathroy-Caradoc-MPAS receiving $25,000 for their Active Days project.
- WALPOLE ISLAND FIRST NATION receiving $25,000 for their “G’minoomaadozimin” We Are Living Well Senior Inclusion Program.
“Our seniors have made lasting contributions to our communities, and they deserve opportunities to stay active, engaged, and connected. Through the Seniors Community Grants Program, our government is investing in local organizations that provide meaningful programs, promote healthy aging, and social connection. Congratulations to each of this year’s recipients in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex who received this grant to support and expand the important work they do to support seniors and strengthen our communities.”
The Ontario government is investing up to $7 million for more than 320 Seniors Community Grants helping seniors and stay fit, active, healthy and socially connected, close to home and in their communities.
“The Seniors Community Grants Program is a great example of how our government is working for local communities,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “We are pleased to provide investments for so many services and activities that bring seniors together, learn new skills, get fit, and stay connected to their neighbours and friends.”
Up to $25,000 per project is invested in local services, activities and events to provide seniors with opportunities for greater social inclusion, volunteerism and community engagement. The Seniors Community Grants is a unique Ontario government grant designed to reduce social isolation, fight ageism and create positive connections.
Since 2018, Ontario has invested more than $40 million dollars in over 2,100 Seniors Community Grants.
