Dresden Moving Forward
June 9, 2025
STATEMENT
June 9, 2025
“The removal of the Environmental Assessment process for the proposed landfill near Dresden has raised serious and valid concerns. I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm my commitment to the people of Dresden and the entire Chatham-Kent community. I fully recognize the passion and determination shown by residents, municipal leaders, and Indigenous partners in defending their community and environment.
That same passion is what gives me confidence moving forward. I want to be very clear: I am ready and willing to work alongside the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, community members, and all stakeholders to ensure that any development proceeds responsibly and with the highest level of accountability. York1 must be held to every standard and every regulation — no exceptions.
There is important work ahead, and I believe that by working together, we can ensure that the community’s voice continues to be heard and respected.
Now is the time to focus on solutions, unity, and the future. I remain committed to standing with Dresden and the broader Chatham-Kent community as we take the next steps — together.”
